So I have always wanted to try to make a sign with a router. I found a small handheld router for $20.00 and figured what the hay!! I’ll give it a try. Now to all the sign makers out there…..I know this isn’t perfect and it could be done a lot better. I will continue to practice on this skill and teach myself how to make a better product. But anyways, it’s a lot of fun to do and I will definitely be making more in the future.

Thanks for watching!!!

  1. For a first effort, and self taught, I say bravo. I have been wood working for 30 some years, and I cannot begin to tell you how many tips and tricks I I have learned since watching YouTube. I like your channel for your honesty. There is a learning curve to everything. I have made a couple of signs, but I'm about to up my game with a cnc. Please keep putting out content and ignore the wood worker police.

  2. You said you used a cover bit? Gonna try this. Just got a router and tried to make a sign using a v-bit. Was a little challenging. The way you painted it before staining made my way of doing it soooooo hard!!!!!! Gonna use your method next time.

  3. I enjoyed this very much and hope to try doing something similar. You kind of jumped right to the carving of the wood without showing how you laid out the lettering. It looks like you used some kind of transfer film but I'd like to hear what exactly you used so I can do the same
