Through dovetail joints are as beautiful as they are strong, and work great for all kinds of casework, including drawers. In this video, WOOD magazine’s Bob Hunter shows how to make a dovetail box in just 12 minutes from start to finish using a template and a router table.

I understand the first bit is a dovetail bit, what is the second one? Straight?
Hello! I’m late to the party – just found this video recently. Is there a way to use this jig for box joints?
Nice clip . Am i alone in thinking he looks like Mike Judge ….?
Huh huh huh huh….?
What bits are you using?
Not exactly making a box in 12 minutes though, are you?
It's not dove tail joint.
Where can u buy the jig for set up.thanks
Great nice watching this video
Very nice video and work. I have a few of these plates and never used them. My PC jig is just too handy.
Thanks
Muy bonito y estas plantilla donde las venden y como se llama
Hard to justify a $250 jig to cut dovetails. While this was a very well done video I was hoping for a more economical solution. I guess problem solving is half of the fun of working with your hands.
I would consider this manufacturing rather than craftsmanship. Setup the machine, press "On". Woodworking can be a strange hobby when the goal is to duplicate the precision found in items manufactured in China. Dovetails seem cliché to me today.
Where did you get that jig? Great video
omg i'll never get the hang of it- suppose I'll just try… only way to learn
Awesome procedure and thanks for making it look so easy
Yeah, but u have chip out on a lot of those tail corners just cut them by hand unless you had to cut 50 or hundreds of Dovetails. this type of thing does not promote craftsmanship
me parece que wood magazine, con la fama que tiene bien merecida de calidad, incluya que el protagonista acuda a la protección auditiva sin considerar a los lectores con el ruido del enrutador que es excesivo. Por lo demás, es muy aleccionador el video.
Where's the bottom? Where's the top? That's kind of not a box with those things…
You didn’t show us how to do the bottom!
What the thickness of that board? What’s your bit size? Can you update the description with that information?
