We Cut Wood on our CNC Machine with a pretty sick tool we made in-house on the Walter Helitronic Vision 400L from United Grinding! Had some fun times too. This industry is amazing!

Who Loves The Ending??????
xD
??
Who makes the tool tightening fixture @ 0:22? Part numbers? Need CAT40
Being a toolmaker as well as an avid woodworker. I owned and operated a cabinet shop for several years while also having a machine shop. I’d often machine wood in a Bridgeport . People would laugh but let’s face it a mill can cut anything with the proper tools, speeds and feeds. Nicely done fly fishing board.
As you say so rightly in your description, this industry really is amazing! What are some of the coolest projects you have worked on with a CNC machine?
I built my first machine a few years back and learned everything I know from machining wood as its so forgiving! Downcut compression bits are incredibly good for such material! Glad to see such from the opposite scale of material.
have you ever cut composite honycomb cores (Nomex, Kevlar or Glas)?
Beast Mode
Makes a compression bit…doesn't know how to use it…?
I’d enjoy seeing a little more detail on the design of the compression cutter and what features make it cut burr-free. And aside from “because you can”, why you made your own.
What kind of clamping did he just?
Now show us how you cleaned up all of the wood dust
The Doosan CNC machine can also make an EXCELLENT CNC wood router!!!!No need to buy a separate CNC wood router!Woodworking shops would have interest in this!!
Nice video, your content is great!!!
I’m really impressed with that fast and clean carving. How does that kind of bit behave on milling/carving details like reliefs and such? Also is there bullnose/tapered with that kind of finish?
Can you share the model for other fly fisherman to make one for themselves?
HaHaaaaa now THATS what I’m talking about…BOOM !!!!!!!! L ?????
How about The Cypert Minnow?

Good to see you fellas having some relaxed moments
Am I the only one who grits their teeth a little when I watch tool assembly with no rag? Lol I'm sure you guys wipe all that stuff and we just don't see it but it drives me nuts!
What, no speeds and feeds?! ?
What brand is that tool holder jig at 0:22?
Can i get the name of this clamps you used to hold the material ? Thanks in advance guys
Forgot to use coolant
This is the kind of video that makes someone's day a lot better.
Beautiful wood, nice machining, and a joke in the end. It can't get any better
Nicely done Barry. Fishermen think they own all the water. lol. Us petrol heads need to stick together.
Why are you calling a compression bit(end mill) a router?
Does anyone know what theyre called or where you can get the clamps he used to hold the workpiece that fit in the bed slots ?
I loved the skit hahaa. You need to do more!
Good meme
I'm more interested bin the socket bit on the torque wrench, over here in the UK we have difficulty finding sockets that fit pull studs??
You can buy compression endmills, not that making your own isn’t cool and all: I did something similar on my Tormach. Then]biggest issue is the sawdust sticks to the coolant residue in e]the enclosure.

Great ending. Had me laughing in seconds. Nice.
Next stop is making complex shapes for aerospace use out of mahogany ? and who needs inconel and titanium anyways…….. These "shorts" make a welcome coffee break during the day. thank you.
LOL, Well, Titan is out of the office today so, what did he expect us to do? Compression bits are awesome and do a great job, even in a handheld router.
ANYTHING ORGANIC LIKE THIS WOOD WILL BREED BACTERIA TO THE POINT WHERE YOUR COOLANT IS GONNA SMELL LIKE ASS….LITERALLY.
Carefully sets up and cuts to .00001” accuracy. He walks outdoors into Texas summer humidity and the wood swells by .1”. ;-). That is a nice project, a radius on the edges and a coat of Osmo, done. Most of the newer vids are not in our bailiwick so haven’t watched any in a long time, till this one. Didn’t know ya’ll were making your own mills. At least your fly supplies are just down the road at Bass Pro, Orvis ain’t too far away either. Great for pointing out fly fishing ain’t just for trout. Flyfishing for bass is great fun, just need a bit heavier rig than trout. That little lake out front is pretty new, I’ll keep a few flies in the truck and drop you a couple if I happen to see you out there. Lake Lavon and Lake Palestine have some great bass fishing. Great vid.
That was good!
A little bit of fun when nobody is looking never hurt anybody, right? 😉
Awesome video, I can definitely relate to the hobby side since model aviation club is what introduced me to a metalworking manual lathe and mill and how I became interested in CNC. Making parts for flying models, flying them, putting together a desktop CNC, making first parts – it was an epic journey to industrial CNC. Great looking RC boat to the smallest detail, even stickers and their placement fit perfectly.
Aren't you worried about getting the wood dust in places it shouldn't be, like behind the way covers and in bearings?
Wood has a quick chill rate
Open tolerance a plus, GREAT tool do you stone the edge for longer USE, RC boat looks FAST
